I'm just saying the narrative when the season is over will be - the Pelcians were good and starting to figure it out before Cousins got hurt.

But I'm not totally sure if that's true. Maybe they were the same .500 team just playing the easy part of their schedule and we're bound to come back down

I think the Pels are a mediocre regular season team, but a much more interesting post-season one

even then, I doubt they were/are more than a 2nd round team, at best

You said it yourself, Cousins was playing different for about a week leading up to his injury. Whether that was sustainable or not is certainly a fair question, but I don't think them finally starting to look like a good team was about the schedule as much as Cousins beginning to trust "boring basketball".
