Is Paul the only real small government republican?

Paul is a wolf in the wilderness on our addictions to war and deficit spending. He is an irritant to both parties because he exposes their hypocrisies. I volunteered for his father's Presidential campaign in 2008 and 2012 and it was one of the most gratifying and eye-awakening periods of my life.

You understand how fricking lip service this is? This a-hole is costing the government millions in money and productivity.

Civilians won’t work while this happens, they will still be paid for that time though. Military wastes significant amounts of money to simply stop spending money, for instance, if a soldier is somewhere else for training they are recalled to Home station, extra costs associated, and will still have to complete that training in the future at cost to the military again

You're a swamp critter.
Someone has to make a stand. People bitch about how worthless politicians are, one finally does what his constituents want and people still bitch

How sad is it that we only have ONE Senator who brings up fiscal responsibility often?

Thats peanuts compared to all the secret spending on technology. We spend hundreds of billions on airplanes that never make the cut.

People like TennesseeFan25 are why the Paul's will not succeed in their attempts to reign in the leviathan and return to a constitutional republic. Most folks want war, welfare and mass surveillance. Who cares if we're $20 trillion in debt?

The per capita debt for each American is over $60k and for each taxpayer it's over $170k. And yet we still have people criticizing the one guy in the Senate who wants this to stop. Our Idiocracy doesn't deserve Rand Paul.

Negative ghost rider. A lot of the time that “training” is paused without spending money to send people back home because history tells us that these gov shut downs only last a few days, a week tops. I don’t sweat at all when briefed of a shut down. Haven’t missed a check yet.

I appreciate that he continues to stand for what he believes in. Doesn’t matter if it benefits his party/him personally or not. I would like more people like him in the gov. It seems that he actually wants to hold the gov accountable for their spending.

As did I. It was awesome being called a "kook" when you know you're right, at least in the sense you don't follow a party nor take what "news" entities report as fact. It's amazing people can't recognize the fake smiles and fake tones of the vast majority of politicians. I feel it's so blatant.

It’s not negative douche, of course it depends on the period of time though, it takes time to process those requests and get that guidance down and out

How are policies that are anathema to conservatism winning? Increasing the debt isn't a conservative position. Endless war shouldn't be a conservative position. Mass surveillance shouldn't be a conservative position. Being in power with an "R" by your name isn't winning when you're spending like a progressive. Paul actually has principles.

Keep voting for the McCain's, Graham's and Clinton's of the world so your kids can die in a war overseas, then get spied on by their government for protesting it and then, in their golden years, watch the pending financial collapse that destroys the United States as we know it.
