If they said that wasn't a catch and TD, I think the NFL would lose so many more fans...
I couldn't understand what they kept looking at on replay...
Catch, 3 steps, then dive across the plane, TD...
If they said he fumbled, he recovered it...
Great play...period..
Collinsworth not convinced by rule...

Was he good at Florida or just a blabbermouth there?
LSU had issues stopping him from catching the ball and scoring a lot.

and the Bama obsession continues.
Gary Danielson is by far the best analyst on TV today. He's got no reason to be biased - he's from Michigan and went to Purdue. Naturally, he's going to be fairly complementary of the team that's been the best in the conference (and nation) for the last decade, but that's not proof of any underlying bias.

But they determined, correctly, that he had already completed the catch became a runner - therefore it was a TD once the broke the plane and losing the ball on contact with the ground didn't matter.

Most ppl know this. I think what they are saying is that it was extremely obvious that he had made the catch then turned into a runner. CC seemed convinced that it would be overturned. I think CC saw it how he wanted to see it. Most people thought it was a very easy call.

It's funny to see how many people in this thread haven't watched any NFL games in the last few years. While we all agree that it was a touchdown, to act like Collinsworth was off his rocker for doubting the original call shows who hasn't been paying attention. Dez Bryant, Calvin Johnson, Jesse James... all looked like catches to most fans, but the overly worded NFL interpretation of a catch allowed some replay official to overturn the calls on the field.
Now as to why Collinsworth kept on about it after the call was confirmed, I don't know, but based off past NFL history, the Eagles had to be holding their breath during the review.

Was thinking the entire time collinsworth was saying it would be overturned how could he possibly think this? Lol.
I liked Collinsworth as a player. He had great hands, and excelled on catching balls across the middle. In the booth, he is a homer , must not know the rules , & blows in general at calling games . Speaking of blowing, just how the frick did he get the job ?

Wonder how much Chris Collinsworth had bet on the Patriots? He would have called two TD's for Philly incomplete passes. Ertz took three steps before diving for end
zone.
