Man taken from SUV pulled from Lake Pontchartrain has died, JPSO says

Rivarde said multiple good Samaritans tried to get the man out of the vehicle before first responders arrived, but were unable to get the door open. The SUV was fully submerged at the end of the pier when emergency personnel arrived, and the driver was removed from the car within minutes, Rivarde said.

A few years ago I was out there fishing at night. Out of the corner of my eye I see a car driving a little too fast in the parking lot. The guy ends up driving down the boat launch right into the water. A buddy was near and jumped in to pull the guy out. This is the third time, including today, that I have seen/heard of someone driving into the water. WTF!

The pics showed a DV plate. Those old guys have hung out at that launch forever. I’m thinking it was a medical issue as he was leaving after hanging out.

Just seems like a lot of people go in at Bonnabel. That launch is bad luck.

Maybe not. I knew an old crippled man that drove down to a bayou, left his cane in his truck, and made his way into the water and drowned himself after his wife died.
Hell of a way to off yourself.

Which is why I asked if possibly suicide. I guess we need to let them investigate.
