Waters is getting a ton of love, deservedly so. But let’s not forget about Whop. Played his arse off and has been nails for us all season. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching him play this year.

He is damn near unstoppable on offense in the paint and is such a good 3 point shooter.

Just saw him, Waters, and Epps at Waffle House enjoying their victory meal. They were all braggin on him while he looked as embarrassed as a 6 year old being complemented by his parents after a little league game when he scored the winning run.

He seems like a nice dude. Happy for him.

His footwork used to be atrocious, but it goes to show what good coaching is able to do for a player. He was rarely (if ever) out of position on either end of the court. Best D I've ever seen from him.
Plus, the few times he got stuffed, he would go right back at them the next time he got the ball down low - wasn't phased at all.

It’s amazing what actual coaching can do.

When he plays with energy he’s the difference maker for this team. Offensively we’ve never had a big with his skill, but his defense and physicality are lacking sometimes. When he comes out with the right energy and attitude he’s a All-SEC level player examples like the Kentucky, Vandy and tonight’s game prove what he can be. We only play twice a week there’s no reason he can’t get motivated and play with intensity every single time out. Our next two games are against much smaller teams, he has a chance to really get it going in these next two. I’m hoping we get the good Reath and if we do it could change the season.

Do any of you think that he is improving his draft stock?

Dude has carried us offensively some nights. Love watching him work in the post. And the occasional pick and pop three ball is a nice added bonus.

Agreed. His offensive game has exceeded any expectations... Having said that, he's the worst 6'11 rebounder...

I feel bad for Doup more than anyone else that he was wasted away by JJ
Think what he could be after 4 years under Wade.

A very minor nitpick here - Stanley Roberts was the most skilled big we've had in the last 50 years. He was very polished down low and unstoppable on O when he was focused. He didn't have Duop's ability to hit a 3 but we didn't want him out there anyway. He was also a better rebounder and more solid defender in the paint. It's too bad we only had him for a year.
Obviously Shaq did a lot just powering in and dunking on people and if I had to choose I'd take Shaq over Roberts, but Roberts was more "skilled" than Shaq.
That being said, I'm grateful we have Duop this year and hope he has a long and successful career in the NBA.

He was a JC transfer. He played 1 season under JJ, so not sure how he was wasted more than anyone.
He was really late to the sport of basketball. I wish he had one more year here to continue learning the sport.
