Spoke to Tab Ramos, Thomas Rongen and Jonathan Gonzalez’s father, and despite claims of multiple in-home visits, I can confirm no #USSF official EVER visited the Gonzalez household. All the details on today’s #MaxAndHerc. #USMNT #ElTriEng @mbretosESPN @SebiSalazarFUT

Heads must roll. How shitty can the leadership be? USSF needs to clean house, top to bottom.

The bigger story here is that Rongen and others in US soccer lied about the ordeal and weren't immediately fired for it. I hope whoever comes in cleans house. J. Gonzalez is now saying the only communication he had from US soccer lately was a single email from Bruce in September. Also when he was 14 he was told by Richie Williams to either play at Bradenton or piss off to Mexico (over the phone), and then implied if he didn't give him an answer right there he would be moving onto the next candidate. Again, this is someone who should not be involved in US soccer.

I'll need more info from other sources about what happened before I slam anyone too hard.

For instance, I don't know why Rongen said what he did, but it wasn't his job to go to meet with with the family or recruit Jonathan.

Was listening to Counter Attack the other day and Meola had copies of emails, texts, etc. from US reps to/from Jonathan. Ramos was still keeping in touch with him, etc. I think what ultimately hurt us was no clear plan with where the USMNT is heading.

Wait, so we are supposed to have to recruit players to choose us over Mexico? No thanks, if that's not a slam dunk decision we don't need you. These are the kinds of half-committed wanks that have us in the position we are in now. Oh and Michael Bradley.
