So now that they have lost their HC to ULL, where is SLU going to look? My thoughts go to someone local that has an offensive background. Kevin Faulk immediately comes to mind. He has done a good job at the high school level in a very short period of time. I would also imagine Hutch Gonzales should get a look. He is at St. Thomas Aquinas in Hammond and played for SLU. Lastly, Jabar Jaluke is available as well. They may go the retread route, but these three guys deserve a look. I would list them in in order from Gonzales, Faulk, then Jaluke. As for these guys not being able to handle the jump, I give you Doug Peterson:

Calvary Baptist Academy (2005–2008) Head coach

Philadelphia Eagles (2009–2010) Offensive quality control coordinator

Philadelphia Eagles (2011–2012) Quarterbacks coach

Kansas City Chiefs (2013–2015) Offensive coordinator

Philadelphia Eagles (2016–present) Head coach

He had to have family or something with the Eagles to get the chance at that jump from HS to pro team

Nah him and Andy Reid were just close. They had a low key handshake agreement or something that Andy would hook him up

Ill prolly sound like a broken record in coaching changes but i hope they go young. I dont care if he only last 2 years before getting poched. Artigues has impressed me and will find a decent candidate. At this level, i dont have an idea of who you go after and who would ignore little ole SELU.

He played for Andy Reid in Green Bay when Andy was QB coach there. He was Favre's backup.

Lol did anybody watch STA play football this season? They looked good on O but their defense was putrid. SLU isn't hiring any HS coach unless they have been very successful at their level. None of the names listed in this thread have really done that. The OC gets it IMO. He came back for a reason.

SLU is not hiring a high school coach or Kevin Faulk.
