This is lengthy but it has to be if anyone is going to explain what is happening within the LHSAA.

Holy shite that was a long and terribly written “article”.
Posted on 1/20/18 at 3:31 pm to Dontsettle12
THe format of that article on mobile is atrocious. Or at least I hope it’s format and not the author’s writing style.
After trying to read this:
I already hated the split. I hated the small public school principals screwing over the rest of the state.
That author is retarded/does not understand how to write

I agree the writing is poor.

The split has decreased the competition in Louisiana high school football. The players are and will continue to decrease in talent. We had the best hs football in the country for over 50 years and produced so much talent. The split will reverse that and we will be average and it will effect Lsu. Stupid grownups on power trips getting public money for their private organization ruining Louisiana high school football. That’s the facts and they are indisputable

I don't see how the split will reduce the supply of 5'11" 190 speedsters with unreal ball skills like y'all are saying... We will always produce talent. Honestly the split helps get kids seen by increasing the number of playoff games

Perhaps you should learn the definition of the word “fact”.

Todd, I am not reading all of that but I have been on the same page about this stuff as you. Appreciate your efforts

Then u missed what caused the split. It was small schools reacting to big schools pushing JC and ECA down on them....

Then enforce the rules as they are written. I’m fairly certain athletic scholarships are illegal in high school (please someone correct me because I am not 100% sure of that). Curtis and Evangel and a handful of others cheated. Enforce the rules to ensure a level playing field

Proving that is almost impossible. Besides, if a school has a “community based” scholarship or a “faith based” scholarship, then they should be able to award those based on on merit. Now if they all go to incoming students that also happen to be great athletes, then that is sketchy. However, sketchy isn’t illegal.

The school's exposure to liability from CTE, will end high school football long before anything else really matters.

I made it about 1/4 of the way thru the article and couldn’t read anymore. Terribly written. Maybe it was just cause mobile but I felt like words were missing.

I will definitely say that attempting to read this on mobile will drive you nuts. When it was copy and pasted to the website, the format didn't carry over.
I will say I hate English and never claimed to be a wizard at writing however had several English educators read it and thought because I used 'short form' some might get lost. As you see, it was long, but to do it justice...it had to be.
I appreciate all of you taking a look, but this is bigger than the split. The kids are the ones losing in this whole debacle and that's the main point I want people to know.

This is one of those things where it will be difficult to change people’s minds. The principals always have the chance to change it back if they choose.
