Wait, I thought it was other things.....

quote:

According to a new report, the Obama Justice Department relied on information obtained by former British spy, Christopher Steele, to spy on Trump campaign aide, Carter Page, during the final days of the 2016 presidential election.

quote:

In the final days of the campaign, the Justice Department used information from Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence official, as part of its request for a secret court order to monitor Carter Page, a foreign policy adviser to Mr. Trump and his ties to Russia, say people familiar with the matter. At the time, Mr. Steele was working for a research firm that was being paid by the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. He produced a 35-page dossier of salacious and unverified allegations involving Mr. Trump that the president has dismissed as false.

no pay wall

quote:

Congressional investigators have found a discrepancy between information Mr. Steele provided as part of a libel lawsuit filed in the United Kingdom and information in the government’s possession, people familiar with the matter say. The discrepancy involves Mr. Steele’s contacts with reporters.

Carter Page surveillance

quote:

The government didn’t put any of the memos that comprise the dossier itself into its surveillance application, said people familiar with the matter. However, Mr. Steele spoke to the FBI twice after his findings on Mr. Trump during the 2016 campaign, and material gleaned from those interviews was included as part of the basis for surveillance of Mr. Page, these people said.

The written words of Steele by Steele

Mr Steele's words written down by FBI.

All from the same sources and unverified. All the same information.

Your defense is that they didn't cite the memos, they cited the guy that wrote the memos.

Really? That's the deflection you're going with?

The FBI has a process for getting a FISA application approved by the FISC. Assertions must be verified. I trust the process was followed. If the process was not followed then that can be a legitimate oversight issue.

It's more like his defense is they didn't tear the memo out of the dossier and use it. Instead they asked him to read from it while they wrote it down.

Moreover, take a look at the timeline. "Closing days of the campaign" for Page surveillance is long after July, which is when other reporting has identified the investigation began.

Weren't there rumblings that the initial application was denied?

One of the FISA warrants was initially rejected, but I think it was Manafort's.

Here’s your smoking gun:

No evidence has emerged that the surveillance was improper.

So they requested a secret order to spy on a member of Trump's campaign based on intel they received from someone who was PAID by Clinton and the DNC?

WTF?

I'm glad they were monitoring Page. He'll be convicted, too. Manafort's warrant netted a dozen felonies. Good work by the justice department.

Literally, the first sentence of the article

"Congress is probing the Obama administration’s decision to use research by an ex-British spy to justify, in part, surveillance of an associate of? Donald Trump, as Republican scrutiny rises of law-enforcement actions during 2016 presidential campaign."

They never said it had zero role.

But once again Jjdoc pushing a false narrative

i think they are beginning to see they have no choice but to start "pretending" to just notice these things to deflect guilt and claim they were not "in on it all along"

wont work though, america knows they were running cover for all this shite the whole time
