What do you think the opinion on Orgeron is when his time is finished here?

I personally think he may become the most or 2nd most hated man behind Curly Hallman. I'd bet that after he's finished here he'll be the type of coach you don't invite back for public reunions on the field.

"What the hell were they thinking?"

Will go down as the most hated LSU coach of all time

It made absolutely no sense to hire Orgeron. Everyone outside of Louisiana, at best, said, "why did LSU fire Les Miles just to replace him with Ed Orgeron?"
Hallman had a good record pre-LSU. As HC of Southern Miss, his team beat tough Florida State and Auburn teams and he had coached on Bear Bryant's staff. Hallman was a hot commodity. Tex Schramm (former president of the Dallas Cowboys) was approached by LSU to comment/assist on the hire. His response was "hire Curley Hallman and don't look back." The problem with Hallman was, in hindsight, his success obviously came from having Brett Favre as his QB at S. Miss. People didn't realize this at the time.
If Orgeron tanks like I think he will, the only thing that will keep him from being more despised than Hallman is that he has a Cajun accent while Hallman sounded like he was doing a cheap imitation of Bear Bryant.

Yup. Fired the most successful coach in our history to hire him.

We will hopefully all look back and laugh and say well glad that’s over now that we have 2 title with coach X

Probably the same way Ole Miss feels about him.

But he's really not even that good of a guy. He's all about himself.

In what way is he a "good guy"?

Orgeron is not a good guy.
I don't know where that narrative came from.

As a complete joke that set this program back even further than Miles in his later years.
Posted on 1/12/18 at 2:17 pm to jlovel7
he backstabbed Miles in his way into the head coaching job and is now sabotaging the program because he wants to feel like a "boss"
He will go down as one of the most hated football coaches we have ever had here if he goes 7 wins or under next year and the year after

What reunion would we have with him?
Those usually happen for championship teams

He was here for x years longer than he should have been, with x=how ever many years he is the head coach

It is really astounding to think how badly LSU fricked up by hiring O.
10 years ago, fresh off of a NC win, if someone told you we'd hire Orgeron, who was fresh off of the worst 3 year run in OM history, you'd have them admitted to a mental institution.
Now not only did that happen, a sizable contingent of LSU fans love it, based off of nothing but the fact that he's "one of us."

Miles lack of success toward the end did himself in. O was just there waiting to sell himself.

The way things are going now - he'll be one of the stupidest coaches for sure.
