I agree with this. If you cant have fun on a resort that das decent food and takes you to nice locations, you're probably just a miserable person.

If you are so full of yourself that you can't be around people who are not exactly the same as you then you will probably NEVER find a cruise line you like unless you get a suite and never leave it, which completely defeats the purpose. Pick a cruise that fits your budget and travel wishes and go for it. It is what you make of it, I promise.

but it depends if these people are infringing on the enjoyment of others. for example, I was on a princess cruise and there were like 300 people on the cruise that were gifted the trip, and most of them were trashy. the ones that were trashy and kept to themselves were no big deal, and I didn't care. there were a few that were completely loud and obnoxious drunks, and their presence had an effect on other passengers.

Cruises are great.
I have been on alot of them......including Carnival. Not bad at all.

There are crazy people doing everything in life.
I honestly would rather be around normal everyday people than take vacation with rich people that think they are better than everyone.

Do whatever you want to do.

I did the Celebrity Inside Passage Alaska 10 day cruise a few years ago. Much more of a international flavor on board than the ones "in the gulf". Some kids and teens but very respectful and not crazy and insane or loud.

More of a mature crowd but def had events scheduled for the 25-40 crowd. Food/service were excellent and the on-shore excursions were the best. Kayaking with bald eagles basically a arm's length away, fresh salmon roasted over a fire pit, climbing on glaciers (if there are any left), biking in the mountains with grizzly bears running around, just great.

Best vacation I've ever taken. Only thing close was a solo trip to Puerto Vallerta for a week.

Everyone should visit Alaska before they die. Beautiful world up there.

We did a 10 day land/sea cruise last summer in Alaska; 3 days from Anchorage to Denali and 7 days on a Princess Line cruise from Whitter to Vancouver, BC. Then we stayed 3 days in Vancouver.

That was our first cruise and it was great. It was the last two weeks of August and there were very few children or teenagers on board.

There was not anything trashy about it all. The crew was fantastic; friendly, helpful and courteous.

They do give you a lot of opportunities to buy stuff; jewelry, high end watches, paintings, reservations on your next cruise, etc. They were not pushy about it but some people might consider that trashy in some sense.

If you do an Alaskan cruise, or any cruise I suppose, select your excursions wisely. We made a few good choices; whale watching for example, and one that was not so good; Totem Pole watching. While we were looking at totem poles some friends were watching a black bear catch salmon and then a Bald Eagle took a fish away from the bear. The totem poles never moved.

I have been on about 11 cruises on 4 different cruise lines.

Disney is by far the least trashy. They can also be insanely expensive. Cheaper to go to Bora Bora over the summer than take a Disney cruise.

You dont see trashy people dropping 7k for an inside cabin.

If you have kids the kids clubs are by far the best at sea. Nothing else even comes remotely close.

Depends on why you like Disney. If you want to feel like a kid again the cruise is way better. If you go for avg thrill rides then the parks are better.

The shows on the Disney ships I would drop over 100 a ticket on if i had the option to see land based. By far the best entertainment.

The food is good in main dining and last cruise I had the option to get filet (cooked correct med rare) almost nightly. On NCL had to do only specialty dining to get same quality.

Asked 6 year old what he would rather do. WdW, Disneyland or Disney cruise and he said mickey ship. The kids clubs are more of a draw for him.

BTW 5 night alaska cruise for family of 4 is 10k

7 night standard western Caribbean cruise for 4 over summer is well over 9k for a balcony. 8900 for inside cabin.

If these are trashy people they are pretty well off trashy people.
