You really want the 6th largest economy in the world to secede from the U.S.? Because they make laws that have no effect on you?

Why would anyone ever pay for a lunch again if they have to serve it anyways?

Doesn't the Federal government just withhold Highway funds and such to get what they want?

I'll pay a little extra in taxes so a kid doesn't go hungry because he has POS parents. Granted, I wish we could incentivise not having children so those who are financially unstable will abstain and we won't have this problem to begin with.

and what happens when a country like North Korea decides to invade the country of California? Will you be screaming for the US military to help defend them to prevent NK from being our neighbor? If so, why give up the revenue they provide to the federal government?

Few thoughts:
quote:

A landlord can face civil penalties for threatening to report a renter to federal immigration authorities.

Solution: Don't threaten; just do it (no offense to Nike).

quote:

It now takes a warrant from a judge for federal agents to come to someone’s workplace on an immigration raid, and employers can be fined for not giving workers a 72-hour notice that those agents will be inspecting employee records.

Umm, that's not how that works. Typically, raids don't involve notice. Also, federal agents don't need a state warrant to do their jobs; they tend to have FEDERAL authority to perform their actions.

Now I guess owners who call in the feds or work with them can be in trouble, but it's not like they can't get around it with an "anonymous" tip.

quote:

California schools can no longer deny a lunch to a child whose parents haven’t paid their meal fees.

Then why will they ever pay it? I'm guessing there has to be some wiggle room (i.e. the lunches are bologna sandwiches only or some other cost-cutting measure).

This isn't a judgement call on the students or their parents; just an observation on human behavior and the lack of forward thinking by government.

Is it legal for California to put special requirements on federal authorities enforcing federal law?

Methinks not.

You also have to have a background check every time you want to buy ammo. I assume the standard FFL fees apply.

I mean I skipped several lunches during wrestling season. Didn't kill me. If you're giving out free lunch why would anybody ever pay?

frick California.

quote:

I hope it pisses them off and they make anonymous calls to ICE.

quote:

Californians will pay a new $75 fee to refinance a mortgage and make other real estate transactions, money to be spent on providing more low-income housing in the state.

Stealing from the working class to give to the lazy and illegals.

quote:

Californians with HIV can no longer be charged with a felony for exposing a partner to the disease, a distinction it used to have from all other communicable diseases.

Liberals are spreading HIV and AIDS.

Too much stupid to comment on.

frick Cali regressives.

I agree with this. Most states (including Most of La) have this already.
It’s not the kids fault their parents are frick ups. Don’t punish the kid.

I also believe in 10 years all public school lunch will be free

What’s going to happen when the actual earners leave the state? Who’s going to finance all their BS?
