Except it's just not here where O is heavily criticized. I know plenty of people that have nothing to do with this place that thought the hire was head scratching to say the least.

...no, I didn't say anything about him not being a good man. Surely he is, but not what a university that had slowly crept back into the top echelon of college football. Do you hear anybody saying LSU is a top 5 football coaching job anymore?

It is truly mind-boggling.
Run off Les Miles (which was long overdue) ... only to go and hire someone supremely unqualified to be the Head Coach of LSU.
Hired someone that literally no other P5 school would even be remotely interested in.

I agree with OPs sentiment, but you certainly can't blame O for taking a "dream job" that was handed to him. Our Athletic administration needs a complete overhaul. The Wade hire was great, but the real impetus behind that is gone, and Football (and the $ it generates) will always be king here. The shitstain that is Alleva needs to go.

I was very scared that when he came on as defensive line coach that he was the "coach in waiting"; but everyone said, no he is just a great recruiter, line coach, blah, blah, blah. He was coach in waiting and we waited for this, "Mike Archer II"

From Day One it made Zero Sense. Zero.
This is why many are frustrated. It isn't whining, or catastrophe syndrome, or whatever people want to call it. It is an absence of logic and reason that many are upset.
