Clarence: You must be out your goddamn mind! Joe Louis is the greatest boxer that ever lived. [to Akeem and Semmi] I'll be with you boys in a minute. [to the other barbers] He was better than Cassius Clay, he was better than Sugar Ray, and that new dude-what's his name? Mike Tyson?-looks like a bulldog; he was better than him too.

Saul: Vait a minute, vait a minute. Vat about Rocky Marciano?

Clarence: Oh, there they go. There they go, every time I start talkin 'bout boxing, a white man got to pull Rocky Marciano out their arse. That's their one, that's their one. Rocky Marciano. Rocky Marciano. Let me tell you something once and for all. Rocky Marciano was good, but compared to Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano ain't shite.

Saul: [waggles finger] He beat Joe Louis' arse.

Morris: [nodding] That's right, he did whoop Joe Louis' arse.

Clarence: Joe Louis was 75 years old when they fought.

Morris: I don't know how old he was, but he got his arse whooped.

Clarence: Joe Louis had come out of retirement to fight Rocky Marciano the minute he was 76 years old. Joe Louis is always lying about his age. He lie about his age all the time. One time Frank Sinatra came in here and sat in this chair. I said Frank 'you hang out with Joe Louis, just between me and you, how old is Joe Louis.' You know what Frank told me, he said "Hey, Joe Louis is 137 years old." A hundred and thirty-seven years old!

Sweets: Oh. Man, you lying, you ain't never meet no Frank Sinatra.

Clarence: [points to Morris, Saul and Sweets] frick you, frick you, and frick you! [to Semmi and Akeem] Who's next?

This is one of the greatest comedy scenes out there. They should have done a whole movie on these guys.

I watched that movie not long ago. Was the first time I had watched it in about 20 years. I laughed even more now. Such a great movie.

The entire movie was outstanding. My mom actually took me to the theater to see that too. I was like 9 years old at the time.

Almost literally every line in that movie is quotable comedic genius.

Look... me and the McDonald's people got this little misunderstanding. See, they're McDonald's... I'm McDowell's. They got the Golden Arches, mine is the Golden Arcs. They got the Big Mac, I got the Big Mick. We both got two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions, but their buns have sesame seeds. My buns have no seeds.

Just let your soooooouuuulll glow

They introduce hilarious small characters and have the good sense to not overuse them.

I think the only scene I don't like is the one where he is meeting that montage of girls at the club.

Movie holds up well over time. Watched it with my parents while I was home for Christmas.

Another good Eddie Murphy movie from around then that holds up well is boomerang.

Lines like that one had me cracking up as much as the ones everyone always talks about. I wonder how much of the movie was adlibbed.

The great Frankie Faison elevated that portion of the film.

"Damn shame what they did to that dog."
