No, the coaches just turned their heads kind of like what most of the Penn State staff did.

I guess the court will decide what he did and didn't say. Bottom line, it's more baggage than LSU or ANY major university is ready to deal with. Move on.

Much like the Cregg hire, I was hoping O would be on the ball and would have named Briles/Freeze/whoever after announcing Canada would part ways.

Well, unlike the Cregg hire, no official word has been released yet.

ETA: Ponamsky, this is the best guy for the job. I also want Briles.

Best option.

He has been successful everywhere and could utilize the guys LSu already has. Plus, he shouldn't be hard to pull from FAU if LSU is willing to pay him like Canada.

I wouldn't care if Briles didn't have the stink on him from the Baylor scandal. I don't want him because the Briles offense sucks against good defenses like you face in the SEC.

The Briles offense is built to run up the score against bad defenses but struggles against real competition.

B12 offenses rely on crappy defense.

I don't think we have seen a Kendall Briles offense with the types of players LSU signs.

Yeah we have. The offenses at Baylor were full of talent. RGIII you might have heard of him. Josh Gordon. Terrance Williams. Kendall Wright.

OKtiger, makes it clear that if its good enough for FAU (or any other second rate wannbe willing to sell its soul for a winning football program) its good enough for him.
Briles and the WildBoyz for LSU !

If either Briles or Freeze gets hired, stand by for the #metoo twitter riot. Alleva will take the path of least resistance.

I posted it in the thread on the Coaching Changes board, but I'll post it here as well:

Briles was named OC in 2015. In 2015 his offense scored:
34 against #12 OU,
45 against #6 OSU,
21 against #19 TCU,
and 49 against #10 UNC.

In 2016 his offense scored:
24 against #11 OU,
and 21 against #16 WVU.

He is averaging 32.3 points/game against teams ranked in the top 25, which is more than we averaged per game over the course of our entire schedule.

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it’s freeze and I’d take him if we couldn’t get briles. However. Joe facking blow alleva is our ad. Let that sink in. I doubt he let’s freeze anywhere near the football facility. But who knows??

Oh NO how will we ever get another OC here bc O meddles in the play calling.

Every HC does this when things aren't going as planned. It's thier job on the line. If the OC doesn't like it then be successful. If it's successful there wouldn't be any type of change.

Canada got pissed and went full on conservative mode against Troy and that's why we lost and is when the problems started. The OL wasn't responding, O did something about it. He wasn't calling the plays. Canada called the plays. It's on Canada IMO. I'm not sure if O should stay with Steve just for the simple fact that our puss fanbase will start a riot, which is pathetic in the first place. Fans need to sit back and watch.

We were gonna fail miserably when we hired O, didn't happen. We weren't going to win an SEC game after the loss to Troy, didn't happen. Down year in LA and we aren't going to make the top 15 in recruiting, didn't happen. Everything our fans have said and flipped out about, didn't happen. Nothing.

Canada didn't work out, it wasn't a very good personality mix, and that's about it. If every other coach has worked out but this one then it can't be O, it must be the (1) person who isn't working out. People like Orgeron, that was never a negetive against O, except for some of our idiot fans that have zero knowledge about the situation.

Y'all make stuff up to fit your hate agenda and have zero proof. LSU will be fine.

Scoring 24 and 21 against any big XII team is not something to brag about.

They lost both those games.

Enjoy 6-6 seasons, km

I understand the baggage. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to give a second chance to someone to right their wrongs

All stats and styles thrown out the window if o keeps putting out les miles records. Will he be retained? The people saying we coulda kept les for this so far are not wrong and I’m no miles fan. Guess we will see next year huh?
