what you think about CBS this year, Kim? I thought it was still really good, but it seemed thin or something

Yep I thought it was to damn sweet, and needed more coffee bite. All I got was maple and vanilla. It needed more smoke from the roasted malt and coffee.

I had a choice this past weekend of getting CBS on tap or picking a BBA Ten Fidy out of the cooler. I chose the CBS, and made the wrong choice. I may still have to go pick up a BBA 10 Fidy or two...

The last couple of years have been really good for BBA stouts in Oregon. Regular The Abyss is no longer top tier, although some of the variants have been really good. Block 15, Ft George, Barley Brown's, Oakshire, Everybody's Brewing, Alesong, Breakside, pFriem, Ecliptic, Pelican, and Ex Novo have all put out some very impressive stouts in the last couple of years. In addition, Fremont, just a couple of hours north of here is throwing out a lot of BA stouts, as well. Literally, 3 years ago, Oregon had tons of BA sours and Barleywines, but was severely lacking in BA stouts, IMO. That has been rectified.

This makes it much easier to pick up BA 10 Fidy, KBS, CBS, BCBS, Abraxas, Parabola, etc, because locals in general, search for local beers first.
