If you are playing against the Pats that is not a catch.
Obscure rule, but it is in the rule book.
Nicely played
And sad but true.

The “bobble” happened after he broke the plane.
Another “Protect the Pats” rule.

Look, here is the rule. If you’re going to the ground you have to hold onto the ball when the ball hits the ground…Going to the ground trumps lunging/reaching to try and get extra yards or score a TD. You do that at your own risk. It’s incomplete…just ask Dez

I thought once the ball broke the plane, that was it.
Negative. Running the ball yes. catching a pass and fallin down you have to comeplete the catch all the way through. He didnt. Incomplete pass...

Tony Romo had to watch that play five times before he noticed the bobble. What does that tell you about the rule? So silly. Bunch of replay dweebs. That’s a TD on every planet but this one.

He never lost control of the ball. Start to finish. Period. It was a catch.
*Except when you are playing the Patriots.

Where are you people when Gronkowski is getting held at the top of every route and getting OPI calls for legally disengaging from defenders?
The league doesn't favor the Pats. Hell, any other team doesn't get slammed for Deflategate.

Steelers have no one to blame but themselves. You rush a play, fake a spike, and then throw in an inside slant on the goal line where it's crowded?

Yeah as several people have already pointed out, I don't think it was conclusive that the ball even hit the ground. His hand was under it. Even under the perplexing NFL rules about what constitutes a 'catch', that call should have stood. If the ball did not touch the ground, he maintained possession through the ground. At BEST it was inconclusive if the ball made contact with the ground, call on field should have stood. This was an atrocious call and the officials/NFL officials in NY or wherever who review plays should have to account for it. They are compromising the integrity of the game at this point, not to mention foiling the hard work that the players put in and pissing off the fans that make the league a cash cow.
