Hindsight is always 20/20, but looking back, you could see this storm brewing. This being Alabama, though, I thought Moore would still manage to win.

Jones did not because the majority of Alabama voters support his views on the issues.

He didn't win because Alabama is some newly progressive state.

He didn't win because he is a great choice to be a Senator.

He won because Roy Moore was an awful candidate (even before the allegations), who people were fired up to vote against. Many voted for Doug Jones because it was a vote against Roy Moore.

If I could go back now, I would take Luther Strange (as much as I dislike him and the establishment support he had) over Roy Moore.

If Moore had a moderately better campaign, he probably wins. Instead he hid in a safe space and had a staff full of incompetent hayseeds who had no idea what they were doing.

Jones outworked Moore. This notion that Moore is some sort of fighter is nonsense. He’s a fraud and his campaign proved as such.

Yes he was, but I still didn't like seeing him getting railroaded by the prog/media fake accusation scheme.

In retrospect? In hindsight?

I could have told you a year ago that he was a truly terrible candidate.

This is the problem with the Primary system. It tends allow people who are way outside the political norms the chance to be the candidate for their party (See Presidential election 2016) and you end up with a lesser of two evils choice in the general election.

You don't need hindsight to know Moore was a terrible candidate. He's always been a terrible candidate.

Alabama GOP voters just screwed the entire MAGA movement. I hope you are proud of yourselves.

Looking back, the 2012 Chief Justice race was actually a great predictor.

Well, I've always thought he was a bad candidate, but by terrible I mean a candidate that could not win.

For a long time, I thought he would win this thing going away. Not because he was a good candidate, but because this is Alabama.

There was always the possibility/likelihood that he would lose.

Dude, you need hindsight to believe Moore was awful. He is a f...... child molester, and well known teeny bopper stalker around the Gadsden mall. Foresight is what you and Alabama Republicans should have had.

In retrospect? Dude, anyone with half a brain knew he was a terrible candidate years ago.

I didn't know this until last night but Roy Moore's maximum previous victory margin in state wide election was 4% when there was no national interest or sexual accusations. It was only 4% when "normal" Republican win by 28%. Even Trump won by 28% in Alabama.

You're right. Moore was a terrible candidate.

The blame goes to McConnell for not having the vision or leadership abilities to initially get behind Mo Brooks.

It was obvious to anyone with a partially functioning brain from the start. Even without the sexual allegations, the guy was a fricking hick that was every worst stereotype about Alabama personified.

You voted for him in the Primaries?!

I'll concede Moore was a bad candidate. Though if you scour my post history, I initially supported Big Luther, so don't blame me. Well considering I don't live in Alabama, I can't be blamed for anything. Though I'm liable as someone who previously voted for Schumer and Gilibrand

As I have said, I knew he wasn't a good candidate. However, being that this is Alabama, I thought he would pull this thing out. When I look back now, though, I realize that I saw this storm coming. This being Alabama made me still believe he'd manage to win.
