Oddly, yes.
The theme of religion is to be good and be granted eternal life.
Eternal life after death has long been a want of man. Pharohs, Romans, Chinese hell even cave men expected to live after death.
Now, with Christianity we have the immortal soul and you go to a good place or a bad place. You devote your life and everything you do to go to a good place you know in your heart exists.
From the outside looking in, Santa is a more believable story.
In fact Santa led me to question religion and give up on it.
