That sucks. That section, especially eastbound, has got to be one of the worst interstate designs in the country. How on earth should an interstate that spans California to Florida go to one lane by design at the base of a giant bridge?

That section hasn't been updated since it was built in 1962.

The designer and his family should've been executed in 1960, then.

It should be noted that they tried to update that section but certain City Council members opined that eliminating the Washington St. exit was RACISS so they didn’t do it.

You willing to pay a higher gas tax to do such a thing?

If not, shut up.

Actually about a decade ago they re-striped the 10-110 merge and made it a tiny bit better believe it or not. It used to be even worse somehow. So they have updated it a tiny bit.

US Population 1962 = 186 million
Louisiana Population 1962 = 3.3 million
Greater Baton Rouge Population 1962 = 300k

US Population 2017 = 308 million
Louisiana Population. 2017 = 4.7 million
Greater Baton Rouge Population 2017 = 825k

Behind the 8 ball in infrastructure is a bit understated, wouldn’t you say?

That single lane coming off the bridge and Washington street and Southdowns handicapping everyone traversing I-10 eastbound is absolutely ludicrous, and beyond embarrassing. There simply is NO excuse for this at this point save Louisiana at its finest.

Hey, I’m truly sorry you live next to an interstate, but you simply cannot stop the rest of the country because you want an exit where it is dangerous to have one and where it doesn’t belong, or don’t want an interstate lane expansion because you don’t like change. The only real constant in life IS change, and you not adapting to it and changing with it is causing a roadblock in life for everyone else, namely everyone.
