Semi autos are just as simple to fire, they hold more ammo and are just as reliable.

Only one of these are correct. Having to operate the slide and disengage the safety is easy, but not as easy as simply pulling the trigger. Many woman have trouble racking the slide. I've also seen plenty of semi's jam in my day. Never seen a revolver jam though.

Oh, and Hornady .38 special defense rounds out of my GP100 has a recoil comparable to a heritage .22 revolver. Essentially non existent.

No, they are all right.

You can leave a semi in the same condition as a revolver, pick it up and pull the trigger. People who carry and put their lives on the line are ok with the reliability of semi autos. You see any professionals carrying revolvers?

OP... I have an LCR, similar in weight to an air weight. With 38s it sucks to shoot. Nothing nice about it. No reason to go with a super light pistol to keep in the house.

Most people keep a round in the chamber so racking is not necessary, and most of the popular semi autos out there don't even have a safety. I tell you what. You have two guns on a table. Both are in condition 0.

Glock 19 - 16 rounds of 9mm critical defense
S&W .357 - 6 rounds of .38 special defense

You have to defend your life with only one. Which are you going to grab?

What safety?

there are just as many semis on the market without a safety as there are with. Maybe more without.

And whomever suggested an airweight? That is a terrible decision.
