No need to get some super expensive BS like Sitka/Drake/Gore-Tex.

I roll with this Gamehide water/windproof insulated 3-in-1 and it makes 20 degree days feel like 70:

Got the Sitka stratus pants and jacket and pair it with first light merino base layers. I have been very happy with the quality and performance. The windstopper worked wonders on my Iowa trip recently where the winds can whip you along with the cold.

Don’t regret the purchase or price one bit. Awesome stuff.

The clothing lines from Browning have never let me down. Have gotten 20 years of service from my hydro fleece

Agree Sitka is the best. If you can't swing it look at Kryptek. It's really high quality also and not as expensive. Much much better than what you'd buy at academy. I did see that Academy is carrying some of Kryptek's lower end stuff. Look at the website. It's really nice stuff.
