Why do movies pretend to take place in the winter with fake snow all over but they have green leaves on the trees.
In Home Alone why didn't Kevin just call the cops to begin with? Why did his parents not keep trying to call the house?

Nick Fury is the spy of all spies - "his secrets have secrets" - yet he doesn't notice that Hydra has infiltrated all levels of government to the point a United States senator is exchanging public "Hail Hydra" greetings with other government functionaries in The Winter Soldier? Even his own SHIELD organization is so riddled with Hydra that an entire reaction team is available to ambush Cap in an elevator.
Apparently, Hydra is a better recruiter than Frank Wilson, Jeremy Pruitt and Trooper Taylor combined. Because there must not be a single SHIELD special agent who was approached by Hydra, refused their advances and notified authorities. Nope, Hydra is 100% effective in getting SHIELD agents to flip.
The REC's Charger/Challenger program isn't even that effective.

Kevin thought he made his family disappear. So, for all he knew, he was alone in the world. The cop coming to the door terrified him.

This is probably a reasonable gripe. The first time they tried, the police department sent someone over to look, but nobody answered. If Kevin's parents were decent human beings, they would ask the cops to break down their damn door and find their son. Instead, the mom decided to take the longest possible route home while the dad decided to not let a missing child ruin their vacation.

The phone lines were out from the storm that knocked out power the night before. Of course, that doesn’t explain how Kevin was able to order pizza the next day.
