From what it appears, if he's offered the position he is going to take it.
I got a text from someone that knows his shite earlier today, and he said Canada wants a job at a school with a big budget. I’m not sure about the finances of the football program at ULL, but I think he is wanting something bigger. My guy said Canada is content with staying at LSU for the rest of his contract if the right school doesn’t come calling. Personally, I think ULL is a good place for someone looking to prove himself. It’s right in the middle of very fertile recruiting grounds, and can have good fan support if you get them behind you. He could certainly do a lot worse.

I really don’t know who I want more. I’ve met Matt Canada. He’s an intense guy that will make a good head coach.
Kiffen was wildly successful as a offensive coordinator and had head coaching experience and ended up at FAU... Canada has to start somewhere.
Pry would probably be a little more stable and wouldn’t jump after one good year being since he has family in Lafayette.

Good... good.... that means Rebowe stays in Thibodaux!

It's unlikely for a sunbelt coach to get a P5 offer (other than Malzahn and Freeze who were each at Ark STate for 1 year each, I can't think of any who did).
But you are head coach, you run your operation, you aren't under the thumb of another coach; and if successful there will be other opportunities.

Then it's a good idea to get his name out there and get interviews to build experience going through the process.
I think he'd be a great hire for ULL, but if he's looking for bigger, then he'll almost definitely need to put more time on at LSU, unless maybe SMU becomes an option for him.

Still think Rebowe gets it

If LSU really wants to part ways with Canada; they could definitely see to it that Canada gets the ULL job.
Was thinking the same thing.. if he gets it. It was all LSU

Baby Briles was the first name to come up. Sucked. He’s my first choice as OC

They need to check their still. I'm pretty sure someone used the wrong solder.

If anyone knows anything, I guarantee it's not fricking KLFY. They're just recycling shite they read on the internet

Any of those 3 coaches will be here 3 yrs max so why not get someone that may be here 5/7 yrs.

In recent years, Houston hired Ohio State’s offensive coordinator. UCF hired Oregon’s. SMU hired Clemson’s. These were coordinators at the top of the game. Rice just hired Stanford’s. What “big” school, pray tell, is hiring Canada after one less than scintillating year at LSU?
He would be lucky to get the ULL job.

No disrespect, but damn how being a HC at ULL is at all enticing is beyond me.
Because 1, you are in South Louisiana a Recruiting hot bed. 2, with the new facility upgrades it now rivals the top G5 programs (some Power 5 programs even) and 3, with the RCAF you will have the financial backing to do what you need to get done.
Some of you think that this is some rink a dink program but it’s not. They need the right guy to be put here to get them to the next level

I actually hope the opposite. Other than an older coach looking for a sunset job, the Cajuns need to be the place good coaches shuffle through on to bigger jobs. I'm a UL Lafayette alumni, but I can recognize that UL Lafayette is not likely to ever be a destination job for good young coaches. But if it gets a reputation for being a spot people move through to better jobs, then the school may have a little more success.

If Canada takes this position, I will lose all respect for him.
Why? He maybe taking any job he can get to get away from coach O . Charlie Weiss did the same thing at UF under Muschamp. Wuss left an OC job to be the UF OC and then left after the first year to be head coach at Kansas.
