Yeah, the article said his 911 call was traced to a golf course and his body was found in some woods close to that area.

Assuming Wright's ex-wife knew who was driving the original car, I don't see how this was a cold case for 7 years. Sounds like a relatively straightforward crime.

His body was found back in the wooded area at the corner of Winchester and Hacks Cross irrc, which is on the property of fedex headquarters. Fedex headquarters borders Southwind. Southwind is an upscale gated community where the TPC course is. Several Grizzlies players used to live in there.

I'm not sure she did know who was driving the car. What's weird to me is they find a random gun in BFE Mississippi (Walnut is about an hour SE from Memphis) 7 years later and somehow link it to his murder. I'd love to read some more details on how they connected the dots.
