re: $11 million gets you 10-3, 10-3, and 8-4. Why are people complaining about O's salary?

So far we are getting the same return on investment that Michigan is for almost quarter of the pay. Seems pretty good to me.

I can't believe someone would actually look at it this way, LOL.

Have you factored in the millions we spent buying out Les Miles so the vacancy our current coach filled would be available? If you're happy with 9-3 and willing to accept never beating Bama, never winning the West, the SEC, getting a playoff berth, etc etc. We could have just kept Miles and been even further ahead in the game (by your standards).

Go ahead and give everyone an assessment of orgeron's market value that justifies his 100% guaranteed contract.

I don't have a problem paying twice as much as we're paying for O if we have the upside of the playoffs. We just don't have that upside with him.

If he beat Troy and went 10-2 with the one loss to State and the other to Bama while the team was constantly improving, there wouldn't be that many people bitching.

The team has constantly improved as the season has gone on. Unfortunately, people refuse to get over the Troy loss so they won;t acknowledge the team is night and day better than they were in September

It doesn’t really matter what his buyout is now, even if he goes 6-6 the next 2 years he won’t be fired before year 3 and at that time his buyout won’t matter.

Rediculous that he is one of the only coaches if not the only coach in the nation with a fully guaranteed contract.

Nick Saban doesn't not even have a fully guaranteed contract..

Doesn't matter year 1 or year 3 we are paying Coach O the entire contract.

Orgeron is being paid WELL above his market value. He would still be a DL coach making $500K if we didn't hire him as our head coach.

Commodawg, the OP has only 900 posts over a 3 year period He isn't obsessive

True - but cries about his contract came after we were 1-2 with a homecoming loss to Troy and a blowout to Miss State. At that point in time, his buyout was an issue. Today, you're right, it is not much of an issue.

He’s pretty much a puppet.

Wait...this can't be right. I've been told that the reason things are so bad is because O is meddling in the offense and not letting his coordinators do their job.

Somebody please clarify. Is he meddling and causing problems or is he a puppet?

I'm lost on the people that are still hung up on being a O hire. I won't lie, he wasn't my first or second option but at this point I can't say it was a bad hire. Maybe after next season we lose 5 games or something and my opinion is different, but I thought he did a admirable job this season.

Are you arguing we are paying market value? You can't be serious?

So Syracuse and Houston didn't interview O because he was really worth 3 mill when he made 450k?
