Who cares who chose whom?
The entire premise is wrong.
I mean this decides the Natty?
CFB needs to get out of the full retard business.

There are no set criteria. They took the 4 "best" teams. I guess if they set strict criteria before the season or design a method to rank teams with computers, then the 4 teams qualify rather than get chosen.
Based on my "eye test" as well as the scoreboard 8 days ago, Auburn was better than Alabama. They got "rewarded" with another game and lost to a playoff team - so how does that make Bama a "better team" than Auburn????

How did Auburn losing to LSU make them a better team than LSU?

Alabama wasn't even the best team against Mississippi State that night they pulled it out, incurred some big injuries in the LSU where they were outgained, and struggled to dominate a very beatable A&M not to mention their pitiful performance against Auburn. Anyone who argues that Bama is one of the 4 best teams for 2017 needs their heads examined, last year's Bama team obliterated A&M, Mississippi State and Auburn like no sweat. THAT was a good team, not this iteration.

One of the best scoring offenses and one of the best scoring defenses in the country.
Alabama was the right selection.
Alabama was the right selection.

The only issue that is left out is that because Bama was left at home it presented the SEC the opportunity to have two one-loss teams. Had a one-loss Bama and UGA played then the loser probably would have been eliminated from consideration.
So basically the conference championship weekend should not have mattered and they should have just kept the teams they already had in or at worst replaced them with the teams they lost to.
The people on the committee are morons though with their ranking logic.
I also don’t believe in multiple teams from one conference making the playoff considering the number of conferences and number of teams in FBS.

Then why did they lose easily to a team that got boat-raced to an SEC East team - which division is dogshite?
This is insular logic by the committee.
Hell the SEC's best team apparently beat Notre Dame by 1 point.
And Notre Dame wasn't sniffing the playoffs.

They got it wrong
26-14 in the game that decided the SEC West title and possibly the SEC title, a game they needed to win

I don't care that Bama lost to Auburn.
But they did lose to a 3-loss team that got blown out in the SEC Title game. That to me is the most shocking. That the committee didn't seem to care that Auburn got blown out basically....and that was Bama's only real opponent apart from LSU.
Alabama played two games this year.
But what really gets me...is Bama got to sit at home and not worry about losing.
IF Georgia loses they are out, if Auburn loses they are out (they are) -
This idea that playing an extra game against the best opponents isn't rewarded is fricking totally retarded.
I don't get it. If you risk elimination and you play another Top quality opponent, that needs to be rewarded...like OSU or even Wisky...they lost one game and risked their undefeated season.
If they sat out the BIg10 TItle game, I guess they would have made it like Bama.

Ohio State has a 15-point loss to a playoff contender that they "needed to win" in order to make the playoff. Those cancel out and you're left with a 31-point shellacking to a 7-5 team.

Looks like a good strategy. Use your goons in the conference office to get a weak arse permanent opponent from the other division, chow down on some OOC cupcakes, take a week off to rest and heal while the two division winners beat each other up playing an extra game and send your coach around to all the studios to whine about the injustice of your team being left out. Voila. You are in the playoffs. Same exact strategy has worked twice now. Why go to the SECCG and risk more players getting hurt?

No Suprise ESPN headlines are "Committee got it right."
You can smell the stink for the last 5 years with ESPN.
BUT USA Today is they got it wrong.
They engineered 2011 and have engineered other events ssince then.

well.. to be fair Auburn did whip Georgia a few weeks ago. I'm sure that was considered in their selection process.
but I get what you're saying.

if Wisconsin had taken care of business this wouldn't have come up.

You wouldn't be saying Alabama played 2 games this year if they had lost any of their "free" games. Ohio State did, by 31 points.
Ohio State has a marginally better "best win" than Alabama (10-2 Penn State vs 9-3 LSU). If you consider their win over Michigan State equivalent to Alabama's win over LSU, then they have the PSU win as an extra notch in their hat.
(EDIT: I goofed and neglected to factor in Wisconsin here. You can give them 2 wins)
They also lost an extra game by 31 points to a garbage team.

Alabama didn't get "rewarded" for not playing. They got lucky that Wisconsin lost, because they are never in the discussion if that doesn't happen.
Auburn and Georgia were rewarded for winning their division. On Saturday, they were given a win-and-in for the title game. Alabama wasn't given that win-and-in. Alabama had to hope that exactly Oklahoma or Wisconsin lost to even have a shot. Alabama's fate was left in other teams' hands, Auburn's and Georgia's fates were not. Things broke right for them this time, but do you honestly think anybody associated in any way with Alabama football was happy that they had to sit on the couch Saturday and hope for certain losses to get in? Because if you rightfully don't, that's a very weird understanding of a "reward."
