Please explain how Auburn getting spanked didn't destroy Alabama's changes of getting in?

It's jack up guys...

Is Alabama one of the best teams in the country? Yes

One of the top 4? well...if we can only have 4 of 119 teams to choose from after 12-13 games, then representation from other conferences (champs) should be a premium...since head to head was settle in the SEC already. How we can say Alabama is better than OSU, USC, or Auburn? Now we have no way of knowing if OSU was really playing better football...we're just looking a bad lose a few weeks ago...

Alabama didn't prove they were the best in the SEC West let alone the SEC, yet still get in the playoff with an extra week of rest...

Am I tired of Alabama? yes

I just don't think they are playing good football right now, a little beat up ...they didn't earn it, Auburn did..

that's how it works or should work...

the Conference games are like a playoff into the playoffs..

Bama lost their last game and then advanced anyways.

it doesn't feel correct to me...

So we are one step closer to 8 teams...? I think so

and Clemson is better or playing much better than Alabama, I smell a beat down, and the beginnings of this great dynasty are beginning to die

Alabama deserved to get in. Wisconsin should have won and we wouldn't be having this debate.
Ohio State lost TWO fcking games and one was a horrible loss to an average team.

Let it go.

1. Clemson
2. Auburn
3. Okla
4. Alabama

Yes, Clemson would remain #1 because of the one loss and head to head win, and there would be a potential to have an Iron Bowl championship in Atlanta.

Bama was in regardless of whether AU won or lost. The only chance they had of not getting in was for Wiscy to win or OSU to win in a blowout.

Bama lost their last game to their division rival by 2 TD's....

and still advance in the playoffs

I hate Alabama to begin with, this doesn't help...

I hope Clemson wins by 35

I agree, and I hope Clemson beats them by at least two touchdowns.

3 teams in the playoffs had to win yesterday to gain entry into the playoffs. Yet Alabama was pretty much in the driver's seat after a loss. That's pretty fricked up.

Yep. They got to sit on their asses and rest up while the other teams had to play in CG. Something is wrong with that picture.

So do I. And if this happens for a second year in a row, then maybe, just maybe, the powers that be will start to realize that we need an 8 team playoff. Five power 5 champions plus 3 at large.

What if a conference has a down year and their champion is a two loss average team?
I want the best teams in, regardless of being conference champion or not.

So you'd rather just eliminate conference championships altogether?

Alabama gets to sit on the couch and get chosen for the playoffs because, let's see, we think they look like a better team - then why play the games?? They didn't win their side of their conference! I can't stand Urban Meyer but they deserve to go before Alabama - at least they won their half of their conference...

The whole conference championships are a complete waste of time. Either abolish them and, oh no, lose $$, or actually use them as a way to get into the playoffs (what?! - Alabama might not get in!). Just ridiculous the way it is now.

Should make OSU play Bama this weekend to see who is the fourth seed. It’s a crime a team gets to rest an extra week and the others don’t
