It meant something to Wisconsin because a win would have been the only way to validate that they belonged in the playoff.

Why does a 12-0 wisky have to validate but an 11-1 Bama doesn’t. The “I think” argument and “because SEC” argument don’t hold water anymore. SEC, ACC & B10 are all on level ground now

CCG could actually help you sometimes.

It should have put OSU in the plauoff.

What you see from the committee is now a total disregard for the game and in favor of the regular season

It appears the game can hurt a team far more than it can help

Is it really that hard to understand a conference championship can help bolster your resume but doesn't necessarily guarantee a right in the CFP?

Is it really hard to understand that most times they do not? Didn’t bolster auburn or wisky or OSU

Take wisky. 12-0 regular season, regarded higher than Bama after regular season play. Their reward? Play another game vs a top 5 opponent. If you lose, you’re obviously not as good as the team sitting at home watching on tv. That just blows my mind

Ohio State's resume got worse by beating Wisconsin, apparently, according to Kirby Hocutt.

Wisconsin played a horrendous schedule. They didn't even play any of the good teams in their conference.

Wisconsin would have been in without the game

B1G expansion has proven to be disastrous for the conference

What about Georgia? It's like you people can't see past one game.

They beat every team on it like they should. You can’t tell me margin does t matter when the committee just said that the Iowa list is what did it

I agree, drop concerned echanpionship game Alan’s go to a 8-Team playoff. However, it won’t happen. The conference make too much money on it.

Yeah they meant something in the BCS SYSTEM. not anymore scrap them. This new system is like the old AP polling crowning a champ in the 80s. Except now they pick whatever 4 teams they want to a playoff conference champs and SOS be damned. All optics. Bcs was better due to computers. 8 team playoff is just right. But they make too much money with title games.

If any one thing points to the elimination of conference championship games, it was today’s playoff selection.

I'd be interested in what a 59-0 win would've done for the committee.

Probably nothing.

Hocutt said Alabama was viewed unequivocally better than Ohio State. 5 days after saying there was little separation between them.

Right, which is why I wonder if that's still what he'd go with after a 59-0 beat down of their #4 team.
