I read somewhere that he hated a lot of the Beatles songs
JL hated "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" so much he actually refused to play on it. I believe that was a unique occurrence.

He knocked a lot of Paul's stuff such as "Obladi-Oblada".

"Run For Your Life" which I posted above was an example of John dissing his own song.

I don't believe that was the reason. He knocked it as by-the-numbers, "writing a song just to have a song" or something like that, was the phrase he used.

FWIW the phrase "I'd rather see you dead little girl, than to be with another man" comes from Elvis' "Baby Let's Play House" (1954)

Didn't Jimmy Page hate All of my love?

Why wouldn’t he? It’s mostly synth with fairly little guitar work. I hate that song and Zeppelin is my favorite band.

Speaks volumes about their lack of musicianship and their musical legacy.

Randy Meisner was one of "Take it to the Limit" writers and dreaded performing it because of the stunt vocals he had to pull off at the end.

Never understood this. What a singer man. If I'd been blessed with a range like that I would have loved to show it off.

Although it ["Eight Days a Week"] was a huge American hit, the group did not think highly of the song (Lennon called it "lousy") and they never performed it live or at any of their radio sessions for the BBC.

Johnny Ramone hated two of Dee Dee Ramones written songs. "Chinese Rock" because of the heroin references. And "Bonzo Goes To Bitburg" because it made fun of Ronald Regan. Johnny was a hard corps conservative.

Joe Walsh - Rocky Mountain Way for example) but that's not quite the same thing either.

He said something like "if I had known I'd be playing this song for forty years I'd have wrote something else"
