Seems like a lot of these would overpower the gin.
That's why I like gin and tonic because the gin comes out most. I use like 100% gin with a splash of tonic and a lime wedge. Or a perfect martini with a lemon twist similar to what you mentioned.

Not at all. Gin is made for refreshing herbal flavors like that. I've seen those flavors with vodka and I imagine it just tastes like the mixer. But gin plays off of it well.
