quote:The fact you think Flowers is "high profile"
A high profile black qb literally didn't get the same attention, or any attention for that matter, doing something far worse 6 days later.

Did I say that? Just because you don't know the qb of a team that has been ranked all year means no one does? Is that how it works?
What will it take for Quinton Flowers to strike a Heisman pose?
SEC teams whiffed on Quinton Flowers. Now, USF's dark horse Heisman Trophy candidate is proving them wrong

But Flowers has too much potential to amass absurd numbers to slide any further down the list; in that respect, he is Lamar Jackson lite. And in other respects, too: Among quarterbacks last season, only Jackson had more rushing yards than Flowers’s 1,530, and only Jackson and Navy triple-option leader Will Worth had more rushing touchdowns than Flowers’s 18. Like Jackson, Flowers also accumulates stats through the air, as he was the country’s 16th-highest-rated passer, throwing for 2,812 yards and 24 touchdowns against just seven picks.

Nobody knows who Quintin Flowers is. Most people hear that name they think, who is that scrub- never heard of him.

Jesus Christ can you run back into your little Poli Board Bubble and let the leveled headed people on this board have a thoughtful discussion?

I still don't understand the logic of cutting more digital and regional content people that are cheap vs expensive on air talent.. Sports continues to Shift more regionally as national brands are less important..

All the articles you picked are preseason hype articles to get people hyped for the CFB season. This kind of reminds me when this was posted on tRANT back in 2011:

Right! These idiots think the "on-air talent" is talent. They can get literally anybody to host their shitty shows/live events and the same number of people will watch.
Lol @ Espn

True but they also are giving ground to direct online and digital competitors that are thriving on more regional coverage... and then ESPN will just buy them at an over market price and ruin them as we've seen before..
I currently don't watch much ESPN but do frequent the website albeit not as much recently because their content is falling behind..

He was the CBS college football player of the week last week LINK
Here's an SB nation article from 4 days ago apologizing for the celebration LINK
I never said he was as well known as Baker Mayfield. One of you claimed I did. I didn't. It happens on TD all the time - you say oh so you're saying blah blah blah then treat what you inferred as fact. He's a high profile player though whether you admit it or not.
A shite ton of people know who he is. South Florida has been ranked all season. The game was on ESPN. All I'm saying is it's hypocritical for ESPN to go bat shite crazy for 10 minutes on Mayfield the morning after this occurred and not even mention what Flowers did.

It's best to just take the L and delete "ESPN shite on Baker Mayfield because he's white" from your spreadsheet of things you hate ESPN fpr.
Posted on 11/29/17 at 10:01 am to the_watcher
You have yet to prove that the reason Baker Mayfield is getting so much bad air time is because he is white.

Baseball has moved more regionally and has been extremely successful in doing so... small market basketball could thrive more on that model and you can add in all secondary sports that are important to certain sections of the country...soccer, lacrosse, hockey. Etc... ESPN would be smart to begin investing in other sports as it helps to internally destroy football

quote:Yeah, I'm not sure what their online strategy is. Their website is terrible. A whole lot of flash, but convoluted and not much substance. Regardless of which sport you like, there is a website that provides news and content better than ESPN.

Maybe they realize that it's a losing battle to try to compete with the specialized websites. Idk.
