Today we are informing approximately 150 people at ESPN that their jobs are being eliminated. We appreciate their contributions, and will assist them as much as possible in this difficult moment with severance, a 2017 bonus, the continuation of health benefits and outplacement services. They will also appreciate your support.
The majority of the jobs eliminated are in studio production, digital content, and technology and they generally reflect decisions to do less in certain instances and re-direct resources. We will continue to invest in ways which will best position us to serve the modern sports fan and support the success of our business.

This time, none of the people getting cut are on-air talent. Instead, these layoffs will affect behind-the-scenes people in a wide range of departments, particularly studio production, digital content, and technology.

No more statistical fact checker people. Just whatever random narrative that the screamin head can think of at the time.
It will become the msb of the sports broadcasting world

Why the bananas? These are everyday working class people getting fired while the millionaire talent is untouched. I doubt the graphics guy is putting his "liberal agenda" in the broadcasts.

They’ve had this coming.
People got tired or hearing their liberal SJW communist shite propaganda.

Don’t act like it’s some surprise. This has been going on FOR YEARS. The crew people were well aware of where they worked.

I'm not questioning that. I'm questioning why this is cause for celebration. Looked like someone was happy that Fred in graphic design got laid off right before Christmas.
It also amazes me that one of the most shrewd and powerful entertainment businesses on the planet is considered to be "left wing."

Better lock them IT guys out before firing them.

People celebrate cheap gas because it's good for the consumer, not because people lost their jobs. If that's why you're celebrating, then you're an a-hole.

Considered?
-Caitlyn Jenner a hero and an ESPY for choosing to be a girl
-Kaepernick is a modern day Rosa Parks for protesting something that is a statistical outlier and asking for something that was already occuring
-Jamele Hill calling President, his cabinet, and his voters white supremecists
-Linda Cohn suspended for stating ESPN shouldn't be involved in politics
-Michelle Beadle telling old white men they should "shut up and listen" while discussing a story not involving anyone white
-Reporting non stop for a week about Michael Bennett racism claims then silence when video evidence proves him to be a race baiting fraud
-Removing an Asian announcer from broadcast because his name is Robert Lee
-Lebron James is so brave for comparing himself to a 14 year old kid who was lynched in Mississippi. No evidence racist hoax ever happened.
-Ryan Lochte is prime example of white privelage! Even though he got robbed at gunpoint by Brazilian police
-Curt Schilling fired for conservative view of bathroom law
-Britt McHenry fired for conservative views
-On college gameday, we got a lecture on how terrible Baker Mayfield was for grabbing his dick. Meanwhile the night before the South Florida qb scored a td, acted like he was jerking off then threw his theoretical semen at the crowd. No mention. Because he's not white
Shocking how people could think they are left leaning
