I have a better idea what I'm going to do is wrap it and put it hidden in the house for Christmas day when we are opening everything after everything is open I'm going to point out the hidden present in and have her open it so she thinks that I never got it.
My dad did that with me with a Nintendo 64 and it was probably the best and most memorable Christmas in my life the disappointment of not getting the gift and then the joy of my dad pointing it out was amazing

Tell her that by opening the box, she killed Santa Claus.

Won't she ask where it is on your birthday?

Downvote for turning your kids into useless gamers.
How about teaching them to read a book or tinker with science experiments instead.

My wife said it was a gift from her to me for Christmas and maybe my birthday so we can play it off all the way to Christmas my birthday is on December 10th so it works out pretty well

But I think the previous poster who said I was overthinking it is right once they find out it's there's they're going to be so happy in that Joe is going to hit them I just got to figure something else on the Santa Claus front thing is I don't want this Santa Claus present to be lesser than a mom and dad present you know
But in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter they'll be happy either way so we will figure it

My daughter that is 8 years old and my seven-year-old daughter are both AR top readers for both of their grades 2nd and 3rd and 1st and 2nd last year
They work really hard and they also love to read which is why I think they earned this for sure

Wrap it up as a gift from you instead of Santa. That way you get credit, not Santa.
or, just get some games for Christmas morning.
Later in the week wrap up something horrible in a box and leave it on the doorstep, when she opens something else that isn't hers she'll regret it.
Teach the kids that it's illegal to open other people's mail.

You're over-thinking this. Just tell your daughter that was her gift and she has to wrap it back up as her Christmas present. Then tell her not to open other peoples mail.

But now wtf do I do about her big gift?
My Little Stripper Pole.
She's obviously growing up in a dysfunctional family with a daddy who can't handle her. Might as well give her a head start on life.
