Have fans of a school ever been able to do what Tennessee did?

Coach is pretty much locked in, it goes public.......... then big uproar from fans shuts it down? I don’t ever remember this happening.

It only happened because of the Penn St connection.

They could’ve weathered the storm if the fans just thought he was a bad coach for no real reason.

Does Pat Sullivan with LSU compare (contractually at least)?
quote:

Following the 1994 season, prior to the Horned Frogs' appearance in the Independence Bowl versus Virginia, Sullivan agreed to become the head coach at Louisiana State University (LSU). However, LSU officials could not negotiate a buyout of Sullivan's TCU contract, and the Tigers hired Vanderbilt University coach Gerry DiNardo three days later.

this is the comparison, and it wasn't fans, but media has a sniff.

In 2001, O'Leary left Georgia Tech to take over as the head coach for the University of Notre Dame. A few days after he was hired, inaccuracies were discovered in his published biographical sketch. The biography, which had remained more or less unchanged for two decades, stated that O'Leary had earned three letters in football at the University of New Hampshire. However, when The (Manchester) Union Leader called UNH to research a feature story on him, the school claimed he had not even played in one game. When this came to light, O'Leary offered his immediate resignation. Notre Dame athletic director Kevin White turned it down, but then asked if there were any other inaccuracies.[11] He then admitted that he had not really earned a master's degree from "NYU-Stony Brook University," a non-existent institution named after two separate schools over 50 miles apart (he had taken only two courses at Stony Brook, and never graduated).[12] When this inaccuracy came to light, Notre Dame forced O'Leary to resign.[11]
O'Leary said in a statement released that day, "Due to a selfish and thoughtless act many years ago, I have personally embarrassed Notre Dame, its alumni and fans."[13] O'Leary blamed the inaccuracies on "resume padding" that had followed him through his career, admitting: "In seeking employment I prepared a resume that contained inaccuracies regarding my completion of course work for a master's degree and also my level of participation in football at my alma mater. These misstatements were never stricken from my resume or biographical sketch in later years."

Not that I recall. But Tennessee fans just fricked themselves over. No real coach will want to go there now

Yup, I hope Tennessee never recovers.

Funny how they’re using an accusation that was never proven (and that Bradley testified against under oath) but cherish Peyton Manning, who was accused of sexual harassment during his time there.

Bradley denying it doesn't mean much considering that if it were true, Bradley had huge incentive to deny it as his only other option would be to basically admit he was complicit as well.

True.

I just find it pathetic a he said/she said scenario is being used to run someone out a job and probably ruin him of future opportunities without any evidence.

And the fact Clay Travis has been acting like the ringleader of it all is even more hilarious considering he's the guy still is asking for evidence in the LeBron garage fiasco.
