re: It's interesting that so many have missed what the battle concerning NN is about

You see. This is what I'm talking about.
You're grasp is so wanting, that you aren't even sure what I'm discussing, much less composing a half decent response.

Not a necessary condition. It’s like saying McDonald’s isn’t a competitor in the restaurant business because Chez Stucup is so much better.
That he has REPEATEDLY over several threads failed to grasp this is astonishing really.

You just don’t understand how the internet works.

Nah, you obviously don't. Wireless and wired aren't even in the same market.
Normal consumers of the wired market would never use wireless as a replacement. Wireless doesn't have the capacity to support many users downloading at one time, Data caps for wireless are 2% of what wired ISPs offer, packet loss is way more severe, higher cost for consumer, ect..... Are you getting the hint of how a market is defined?

I mean seriously. Did ANY of you frickers take or pay attention in economics?
Damn

It's insane.
Hourse and buggy makers aren't AGAINST cars!
These people are literal morons.

I just really can't even conceive of how they don't get that competitors don't have to be pure peers in terms of product quality offered.
That's like super basic shite. It would be like someone telling you they don't understand the commutative property in math but then wanting to claim they understand math.
They get mad that all I do is laugh at them but what the frick do they expect? They are so far down the food chain in terms of economics and business knowledge that it would require me committing a semester to teaching them
And even that would be a waste of time because they are committed to disregarding all economic arguments

5G wireless capacity is/has been engineered to accommodate the same traffic as fixed connections, in the end wireless and fixed connections ride the same backbone networks. The edge of the network is not where the bottlenecking occurs.
The latest evolution in the core network is SDN (software defined) and Edge Computing. Edge Computing brings the necessary software/hardware to the edge of the cloud rather than into the core of the network mitigating the unnecessary transmission of data thus freeing up BW on the core network/backbone.
Omitted the other very important aspect of Edge Computing, reduces latency bigly.
Edge Computing and 5G technology

That's not from reddit....straightcuckhomey21 won't like that

I love the idea that wireless can replace hard infrastructure with no drop in quality or speed.
Love it...

I thought you were worried about gov censorship, but now you see gov regulation of the telecoms as a net positive?
Posted on 11/26/17 at 11:42 pm to CptBengal

The whole idea is who gets to censor and control the narrative. Under NN, the tech giants can censor who they like, control the information they like, etc.
If that goes away, the telecoms can control/censor as they like by restricting access.
The only difference is the telecoms are regulated under the FCC. The silicon tech giants are not.
But reddit told you NN is good because Soros and the PR bots kept pushing the idiocy at you.
So let me get this straight:
1) Corporations controlling the narrative is bad.
2) Silicon tech giants are unregulated and control the narrative as they wish and this is also bad.
3) If NN goes away, the ISPs (corporations) can control the narrative as they wish by restricting access and this is good.
I don't really see how that makes even a tiny bit of sense. All the Pro-NN people want is for internet traffic to be treated equally.. the ISP sells a service that connects you to the internet at the speed specified in your contract. They don't care about ISPs being classified as common carriers and subject to Title II. Comcast does (and for good reason tbh).
Solution: rollback/partial rollback of FCC net neutrality ruling with the exception of how internet traffic must be treated. ISPs could still offer a variety of packages based on consumer needs (download speed, upload speed, data caps, access during peak times, etc).
