Les Miles still can't Coach?

Why does no one else in college football want to hire Les Miles? Could it be that Les Miles can't Coach?
Remember all the arguments inside of LSU football over Les Miles ability as a coach. The Les Miles supporters kept saying he's a wonderful coach, who had a wonderful record. So now that the rest of the NCAA college football world has a chance to also hire Les Miles, no one wants him?

His age is a big negative IMO...

Why can't you frickers just give this shite a rest and appreciate all that the man did for this University?

I guess Spurrier and Stoops can’t coach? Les is 64. Most ADs want to hire their next coach to be around for 10 years. Les probably would be an option unless the program just wanted a quick turnaround.

How many offers has Bobby Bowden had? Obviously he was a terrible coach or someone would want him.

Miles has a lot of faults but there are only a hand full of elite college coaches. He is as good or better than 80% of the current coaches. He could actually win at places like Arkansas, Virginia and Nebraska. The talent pool of college coaches is really down.

Les miles is the Fred Flintstone of college football offense . No one wants to see three yards and a cloud of dust offense anymore. Les proved his last season and a half at LSU he is unwilling to change. Even with his job on the line he was totally unwilling to change. The whole prospective job market witnessed this. Les committed job suicide the last season and a half at LSU.
It has always been my contention that Les was ready to retire and wanted to take his buy out with him. But that is another discussion. Or maybe he is just an extremely stubborn old guy.

You should just be happy that your boy, O is coach. Why are you still obsessed with Miles?
Probably because you know deep down that O will never be half the coach that Miles was.

First off, the head coach doesn't coach so much as he runs the program. Position coaches do the coaching, and coordinators draw up the game plan and the plays. The head coach oversees everything, makes sure compliance is taken care of, does some fundraising, etc. He runs the program.
Second, any program that is looking for a new coach is not really looking for someone who is over 60. They're looking for new blood, an up-and-comer.
ETA: Forgot to mention that I downvoted you too.

The OP did not bring coach O into his post, his comments are about Miles coaching at another school.
Since we are paying him now and if Miles does take another coaching job our payments drop with his salary then Miles conversations are in play. Not obsessed with Miles but the guy coached our team for a decade and most of us are simply baffled why he was so stubborn with the offense and why he did not adapt.
