I call them a half hit wonder since they just covered falco's song and no one in the states had heard the original yet.

Eta at least hairy pits had the sense to record an American version of her song as well. "Every one's a captain Kirk"

Smoke From A Distant Fire- Sanford Townsend Band.

A PERFECT jazz-influenced rock song and a BIG hit in 1977. They seemed to exude talent; it's impossible to believe they never even charted again.

it was years before the one cross-over hit they had.

all the 'cool kids' in houston were done with L7 when that hit. everyone hates it when our alter-na band gets a hit.
