If that brisket is in original cryovac and has never left refrigeration for more than a few minutes, it should be good for a couple months. Competition brisket smokers intentionally wet age their briskets for anywhere from 30-90 days.

Yep. The BBQ writer at Texas Monthly has cooked them after six months, even a whole year, just sitting in the fridge in cryovac. The year old one was gross but not deadly.
