SEC Country

It appears that Bret Bielema’s time at Arkansas has come to an end. According to a report from SBNation, Arkansas will move on from Bielema at the end of the season. Arkansas is currently 4-7 and coming off a loss to Mississippi State on Saturday. Earlier this week, Arkansas parted ways with Jeff Long, the school’s athletic director. Auburn coach Gus Malzahn has been heavily linked with the Arkansas job and per SBNation report, Malzahn would have a hand in picking the next Arkansas AD, should he take the job. In his five seasons at Arkansas after coming over from Wisconsin, Bielema has compiled a 29-33 record and is 11-28 in SEC play. This year the Razorbacks’ lone SEC win came against Ole Miss, when they rallied from a two-score deficit in the fourth quarter to pull out the victory. This year has seen a number of struggles for Arkansas. It lost running back Rawleigh Williams to retirement in spring practice, saw Austin Allen go down with a shoulder injury in the middle of the season and had its backup Cole Kelley get arrested on DUI charges. And this looks like it will be the first year that Bielema will not finish with a 1,000-yard rusher. Arkansas plays Missouri on Friday at home. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on CBS.

I'd like to see Bielema in the Big 12. Either Kansas or K-State should have openings soon and the Jayhawks would be thrilled just to get a few wins a year.

Bert would be a great fit at Nebraska if the deal with Frost falls through imo

Well, that's a textbook case of Cart-Horse Inversion, if I've ever seen one...

Bert needs to be a Power 5 head coach solely for the memes

I agree Kansas is the perfect place for him

Mangino and Bert on the wall of coaches will be hilarious

Never liked that ugly bastard. Yeah, Kansas would probably be a good landing for him. He's not SEC material.

So not punting of fourth-and-two sealed the deal for ol' Bret.

Jim dunaway (bham radio personality) apparently just said 85% chance Gus is gone to ark if he loses the iron bowl.
