95% of people say "not today", like they will tomorrow.

You probably buy organic, that's why. No one asks me when I buy my 2%.

This is me when I go to the grocery store:

"Why the hell am I here? This is the woman's job."

When they give you your change, ask "Would you like to make a donation to the Tiger Athletic Foundation?".

My response:

No.

Because I don't base my decisions on emotional bullshite or peer pressure.

When I was managing the grocery store, I had to ring people up during busy times. We did this thing where we could round your change up and donate it to vitamin angels, a charity providing essential vitamins to 3rd world countries where they might not be getting everything from their diet that they need.

So I ask a guy if he wants to round up and he says "frick no."

I was just like "okay" and internally like "holy shite what a fricking dick."

Like say no if you want to, but saying frick no just makes me know you're just being a dick.

Guess I’m an a-hole because I have no problem just straight up telling them “no”. But I also tell panhandlers “no” instead of “sorry, I don’t have any cash” like most people do.

My cynical side always thinks the grocery store gets to keep a large portion of the "donation".

I have given a dollar to those things a few times, or bought a piece of candy to donate to the children's hospital around the holidays. Just when I happen to get caught in a good mood. I generally don't like it though. Feels kind of scammy, and I feel kind of like I can't trust where the money is going.

I do because I've usually stolen more shite than the donation anyway.

I always say yes every time the Publix girl asks, because I'm neither cheap, poor, nor an a-hole.

Between the donation jars at the register, the local team/troop/Salvation Army selling shite at the door, the vagabonds playing guitar on the sidewalk, and the homeless Vets holding signs at the parking lot exits I am damn near broke by the time I get on the road.

I have to get cash back now just to pay all the people with their hands out.

ETA: I forgot about the ladies walking around the parking lot selling tamales.
