I started to talk to someone after having a panic attack that I think was related to lack of alcohol. I had a long weekend of heavy drinking, got up, smoked a bunch of cigs and a fat bowl, got in the car, and almost passed out from crippling anxiety (which I had never experienced before).

Afterwards, I would intentionally go without in the day and noticed that the same gut wrenching feeling would start to pop up, but no attacks. Finally consulted a counselor and he had me taper off instead of seeking real treatment (he didn't think it was that advanced).

It's been about three months and I feel much better and can go several days without drinking with no problem. I still drink (and often heavily), but not the way I used to.
