Job Interview and Follow Up Etiquette

Went on a job interview Friday for a sales position with a competitor in my current industry. It went very well. I got along great with both the men interviewing. They want to fill position by end of year.
Sunday night I sent a short Thank You email. Today I received a reply back acknowledging.
I know they have two other candidates which they are also going to interview. Probably this week and next.
Question:
Should I do a follow up email reiterating my interest in the position and highlighting strengths? If so, when?

No. You already followed up. They are interviewing the other guys now. These things take a few weeks usually. I would be suspicious if they offered you on the spot. Let the process play.

If you sent in a follow up then the ba is in their court. If after a week plus You probably didn't get the job

I reccomend that you follow up on this just as you would after any initial cotact with an important prospective client/customer. It is a builtin opportunity to demonstrate your initiative and follow up skills.

no, you did follow up, don't appear desperate, they are probably obligated to interview everyone before hiring

Like others said your thank you email was your follow up. Hopefully in it you expressed your interest in the position.

Why would you do that? They know you are interested. You applied...They should know your strengths since you interviewed and they have your resume. You sent a thank you note. If you start badgering them and they are on the fence between you and another person, that's an easy reason for them to dump you.

If they didn’t indicate a timeline other than “filling the position by EOY” I’d do a check in on Dec 1...

This is sales. I'd follow up again just to keep your name in front of them. Behave like you're trying to get a new client.

If you send an email to them two weeks later that says something like the following:
Mr. Interviewer,
Good afternoon. I wanted to drop a quick note to check-in on the interview and hiring status for the sales position. I know you indicated you'd like to fill the position before the end of the year and with the holidays approaching I wanted to see if you're still on this timeline.
As I indicated a few weeks back in person, I'm very interested in this role and becoming a member of your team in the near future.

Keep in mind, it's a sales position. And not knowing the size of the company or the industry, the interviewer is likely doing EOY close out stuff. And things get lost in the timing around the holidays. A follow up two weeks after the interview if OP hasn't heard anything isn't badgering.

If they gave you a time frame (which it sounds like they did based on your knowledge of other interviews) wait until at least then. General rule Id say is 2 weeks though. Maybe shoot them a message Momday after the last interview.

People may lose interest after interviewing. It’s important to reaffirm your interest post-interview, but you can do it along with the thank you.

You got an email back the next morning. Anything else you sound desperate - send the office a cookie bouquet or an edible arrangement.
