You probably right, but he said 15’- 20’ sf. So that’s like a 5x4’ area. Max

He doesn’t have to overthink this.

OP could have probably have this completed in less time than keeping up with this thread.

Yeah, with a space that small, just spray for weeds, lay down a barrier, add sand, and lay pavers. Use a big 2x4 to drag across the top to get it level. If you wanted to get real fancy, use some posts in the ground and put 2x6 framing around it to keep the stones from shifting. I did that for a larger patio and years later it still looks good. I used 16 inch pavers and did an 8x12 area.

Sand is crap. 1/4-0 limestone, or decomposed granite if you can get it. Compact every 1/2", until you have a 4" base.

Good base (Crushed limestone or granite) (may omit in lighlty traveled area, but may cause bricks to shift over time)
Edge restraint (I used steel garden edge, worked great)
Sand (screeded flat)
place bricks
sweep washed sislica sand in joints
vibrate jonts to lock in place (i used a dead blow hammer with a flat 2x4)
repeat sand fill until joints are full
rinse with hose for final wash-down

Bluntly speaking, I just want to get rid of the weedy areas of the yard. They have been here since I moved in. I am not particularly interested in having beautiful sod ready to replace. I am okay with stones, rock gardens, etc
