Belittling those with faith is a winning narrative. They should keep at it HARD.

Dear Federal Government and The Great Father Climate Change,
please make conservatives and libertarians agree with us so that we can take more of their money and waste it.
P.S. - It would be very helpful if you could make them give up their guns.

They are right. If prayers were enough then the world’s problems would be long gone. And yes, I am pro 2nd amendment.
It's not about "being enough". People aren't praying because they think that's how all of the world's problems are solved, as if God works entirely outside of the means of humanity for all things. They are praying to show solidarity with the victims and their families. They are praying to help themselves cope with the tragedy. They are praying that God gives comfort to those affected by this terrible thing. They are praying for a change of heart and conversion for the evil people in the world that would want to do these sorts of awful things.
The reason this is an issue is because prayer, itself, is under attack by those who want to minimize its importance to so many people. In their zeal to make themselves feel important, many are attacking those who say they are praying for not doing enough to show they really care, as if prayer isn't important at all and should be discarded entirely. Often times there isn't anything people can do except pray.

Why did Dems filibuster the Cruz proposal that would have had this guy in prison when he tried to buy the gun?
Ted Cruz had a bill that made buying a gun as a domestic violence offender lead to a prison sentence?
Please link that one, sounds fun...

this is the law
quote:
The bill would increase the resources available to prosecutors for violators of gun laws, and creates a “Cruz Task Force” to prosecute those who fail criminal background checks. The task force is funded through an Asset Forfeiture Fund.
The bill criminalizes straw purchasing and trafficking, measures Grassley supported in committee hearings on the gun control bill that will go before the Senate later this month. It also seeks to increase safety at schools, keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill, and increases accountability for prosecutions at the executive level by requiring the Department of Justice to submit reports to Congress.
The senators were particularly critical of the Obama administration’s record of prosecuting background check violations, saying it only took up a small portion of such cases.
it was aimed specifically to aid in making sure all the databases were linked with funding to ensure they were useful

No dummy.
He had a bill making it a felony for a convicted felon to lie on his application for a gun. It also required all agencies (like the Air Force) to list alll felonies with the NICS. Dems filibustered it.
Killer lied in his app. Air Force failure to report felony to NICS meant no red flags popped up. Had the Dems not filibustered the bill...his felony would have been registered and he would have been arrested and sitting in federal prison for trying to buy the gun.
Dems don't care about actually helping people. They had a chance...and filibustered....because the meanie republicans were being too harsh on felons.

Democrats are angry people are offering prayers in lieu of doing tangible things that might limit the need to offer more prayers in the future.

again. they filibustered a bill that would "do something"
specifically, it would have stopped this murderer from illegally buying guns
Democrats apparently offer no prayers no solutions

It obviously isn't enough with the increase in mass shootings in this country. How can you argue that? Or would you argue these mass shootings are acceptable to God despite the fact people pray for them to stop?

Republicans killed it, not Democrats
Why couldn't Ted Cruz get his own party to support his bill? Weird.

I love how you are unabashedly part of the problem with this country. This sort of thinking on both sides is toxic, stupid, and only leads to fringe whacko candidates gaining ground.
What do democrats believe in then? I can't think of anything that doesn't have something to do with identity politics? People are tired of your bullshite.

Why not have the background check system be robust enough to not worry about whether a felon lied?

the Cruz-Grasserly bill did that, too, by specifically forcing all agencies to share their data

The Manchin-Toomey bill was the one under consideration. The Cruz-Grassley amendment to that bill was an NRA-supported amendment that would have done little to strengthen background checks and in exchange made the interstate sale of guns easier.
Cruz proposed his amendment knowing it would fail, but of course you're not concerned about truth.
