Winning out is paramount. Recruiting, momentum, etc.

Etling is our best chance to win. You people wondering about Brennan are grasping. Etling's level of play has been intramural at best. Canada has been handicapped as Miles was. He is using what Miles and Cameron left him.

I was at the last closed scrimmage. O was disgusted w Etling in the red zone and was begging for Brennan to take the job by the horns. After 10 games of playing w a handicapped QB that is out-produced by a RB taking a direct snap, I'm here to tell you that Brennan is never beating Bama or winning an SEC championship, if he can't take the job from Etling by now.

So, the answer to your question is, O will have to trust Canada to find someone on the roster, a JUCO transfer, or a kid playing high school ball now. I have no doubt in my mind that a kid like Lindsey Scott would have given us a much better chance to win a game like last night.

It takes a QB that is a viable option to run to beat a defense like AL. Or LSU for that matter. Hurts beat us with his feet last year and this year. Passing accuracy amounted to shite in this game. Etling hit on one punt pass last night out of probably 8, and that was a 6'6" WR that was 5 yards from another of our receivers. EVERY other punt pass was under or overthrown. Etling produced 3 (THREE) points.

Our TD came from Williams in shotgun and AL having to defend an extra runner. Think about what could have been with a kid like Scott taking those snaps, and only having to complete ONE punt pass w his arm out of 8 to match Etling.

Anything he does on the ground would have been lagniappe and opened up the short, medium, and long passing games.

This isn't brain surgery, we just pay these guys like they are. Brennan ain't winning shite vs Bama or in the SEC, but I'm sure he's a good kid. I'm just talking football and beating Saban.

Canada's play calling is limited by the fact that our QB is not a viable option to run and has limited arm strength. Add to that his limited decision making abilities, and yes, I think he knows the playbook and will go the right way with the ball, but brings nothing to the table to improve our offense vs a championship winning defense.
