Kidde is in the process of recalling millions of its fire extinguishers due to handles failing or the unit not working at all.
How many extinguishers do you have in your home, car, boat, etc? 4 for me and all are affected.

Do people actually have fire extinguishers? I found an old one in my house and I ended up using it as snow for my yard nativity

All considered that's not really a lot. I would expect it to be almost 1000x that number.

I was in the business in the 80s in Chicago. Kidde was garbage. We sold Ansul and General.

Most reputable fire companies won't even mess with a plastic head extinguisher when they're due for 6 year maintenance because of the head cracking and/or leaking.

Just spring for an Amerex and be done with it.
