Exclusive – Congressman Ken Buck Calls for Congressional Hearings into Hollywood ‘Criminal’ Sex Misconduct
quote:
With allegations of sexual harassment, assault, and other forms of misconduct sweeping through Hollywood in recent weeks, at least one Republican congressman is calling for Congress to hold hearings on entertainment industry practices.
Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview Thursday that Congress should help expose the widespread “criminal conduct” that has taken place in Hollywood and across the entertainment industry over decades.
quote:
Actor Kevin Spacey was accused this week by former Broadway star Anthony Rapp of making a sexual advance on him at a New York City party in 1986, when the latter actor was just 14 years old, while actor Dustin Hoffman and director-producer Brett Ratner have each faced separate allegations from multiple women of sexual misconduct. More than 50 prominent Hollywood and media figures have faced sexual misconduct allegations since early October, when the New York Times first published a bombshell exposé on film producer Harvey Weinstein that detailed decades of accusations from actresses and other industry workers.
Since the New York Times‘ initial report, at least nine women have accused Weinstein of rape.
“I think it’s clear that for decades, there have been cover-ups of criminal conduct, and as a prosecutor for 25 years, it is disturbing that Americans have allowed this to happen,” Rep. Buck told Breitbart News.

Rep. Buck suggested that a number of Congressional Committees could have jurisdiction to bring up hearings, including the Judiciary Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee, which could re-evaluate tax breaks and other incentives provided to Hollywood.

This whole Hollywood thing reminds me of a saying that I used to have when I briefly performed in the symphony when I was younger
And that saying was "the orchestra would be a great place to work if it weren't full of musicians"
I've met cool artists who are fairly normal. People that can blend in to virtually any surrounding. Most people would say I'm one of those guys
But on the whole. Artists are fricking weird. And the rate of assholes within the artistic community is easily three or four multiples higher than in any other group of people I've known in my life.
It's not like I've done any studies on it but it's fairly clear to me that the same innate traits that makes someone a top-level artist are traits that dramatically increase one's propensity for being a piece of shite.

Is that what Congress is going to waste their time on? Don’t we already have laws against rape and sexual assault?

Yeah I don't see any purpose in the United States Congress getting involved in the fact that Hollywood women are sluts and the men are abusers

Maybe they can dig into the NFL kneelers next. They already did the MLB.

Why just limit the inquiry to Hollywood?
Plenty of it in Congress too.
Plenty of it in Congress too.

I'm all for exposing these sick fricks, but is this really under congressional jurisdiction?
Seems it should be a DOJ investigation. But then again Sessions has no balls except when it comes to muh weed

Bingo
The Hollywood inquiry will implicate DC and vice versa
Opening acts of a bigger production...
All theater for now...

Ummm....because those laws are not being pressed on the elite classes, and it needs a focused effort? Just a guess.

Sluts and their abusers I have no problem with, however pedophiles and sex trafficking is another kettle of fish imo.

I’m fine with the way that things are playing out:
The condescending, preachy leftists in the entertainment industry that has for so long pretended to be the arbiters of our social conscious are nothing more than a wretched hive of scum and villainy.
Publicly, they are bastions of political correctness. Privately, it’s back stage at the Whiskey A Go Go in 1985.
Hypocrisy is the 8th deadly sin.

sure, congress MUST hold hearings on adults having consenting sex in exchange for something but nooooooo we cant have a special prosecutor to look into the clinton foundation, or hillary selling uranium, or even the 30 something other crimes with clear detailed evidence of guilt beyond any reasonable doubts
