This site has really been reduced to a bunch of pussies already accepting defeat before the game is played. I remember when this site had balls.
Saying LSU will win and actually believing they will are two totally different things. If LSU had a QB that could carry this team on his back i would say we have a shot but danny Etling does not instill that confidence i believe in anyone.

But that’s not the only reason he was fired.
He was fired for failing to be competitive in the past 5 years AND for not changing the offense after promising Joe Alleva during the offseason that he would make it more wide open and adapting it to a more modern style. He didn't do either in the first 4 games of last season. If I had been AD I would have fired him after the Wisconsin game when it became apparent that the offense was the same old tired system that he was holding Cam to since he had been here. And this is after I had been a huge supporter of Les.

Miles was fired indesrvingly, yes. If he would have just evolved a little bit to the way of play n the SEC. As much as is pains me to say this, look at Saban. He never ran RPO or the read option. He got a qb1 that fit the scheme. Miles played 1980’s football. Old SWC football. Be patient with Coach O. After MSU and Troy lost the team just quit. Not the last couple of weeks. We’re so young and we are def not the same squad as in Sept. and that’s saying something abt Coach O. Geaux Tigers beat Bama

Our best Will not beat bamas best at bama.... last year we had a more experienced team and got shut out..
Like I said...we can enjoy winning 4 in a row to finish the season then we can talk Bama next year...this year it won't happen...we don't have the juice yet, not try to piss anyone off just starting the facts....nm....
Id like for one person to explain where exactly are we going to attack Bama effectively that no one else could do? Lol.... which weapons we gonna use to score more than 35(impossible) on Bama cause that is what it will take...Lol....name a part of the game we are better than Bama at? None... what single position are we better at this year?... none....nm

Any SEC rivalry underdog can win on any given Saturday. To quote my man Chris “Boomer” Berman. “That’s why they don’t play the game on paper”. I’m not delusional, we have to capitalize on any and every possible scoring situation. Bama turnovers need to be responded with 7 not 3 and we have to damn near perfect on all
Side of the ball. I get it. Just have a little faith. If we do lose... Next year watch out!!!!![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Icongeauxtigers.png)

Miles was fired because that’s what LSU does - run off good coaches for inferior replacements.

Name one good football Coach in the last half century LSU ran off for an inferior replacement.
Here's the list:
1935-1947 Bernie Moore(83–39–6) - Retired.
1948-1954 Gaynell Tinsley(35–34–6) for Paul Dietzel? Nope!
1955-1961 Paul Dietzel(46–24–3) - Left to coach Army.
1962-1979 Charlie McLendon(97–32–5) for Bo Rein? Tragically we'll never know!
1980-1983 Jerry Stoval(22–21–2) for Bill Arnsparger? Not a chance!
1984-1986 Bill Arnsparger(26–8–2) - Left to be AD at UF.
1987-1990 Mike Archer (27–18–1) for Curley Hallman? Both sucked!
1991-1994 Curley Hallman(16–28) for Gerry Dinardo? Obvious upgrade!
1995-1999 Gerry Dinardo(32–24–1) for Saban?

1999-2004 Saban(48–16) - Left for NFL
2005-2016 Les Miles(114–34) for Ed Ogeron? Here's your ONE possible answer!
In summary.
ONE good Coach has been "run off" from LSU in the last 80+ years for an inferior replacement!

Would have easily won 10 games last two years if not for losing two non conf games to weather.

Good thing we made that costly coaching change so that we could be happy about a 10 win season...

You can’t ignore and change reality
Reality is we fired a coach who averaged ten wins a season for eleven years and now have a coach some want to applaud IF we can figure out a way to win ten games.
If you cant see the double standard being applied in that shite, shame on you.

I wish u people would let LES go! Should have fired the last game that year. But no we brought him back for another try, How did that work?

Here's the thing...we have over a decade of LSU fans grousing about Les Miles. You realize that, right? For some, the guy could not do one thing right.
Now...that was largely because we went from Saban to Miles. and even though Miles' first three years here were far better in total than anything Saban had done, Miles still could not live up to the legend of Nick Saban.
Despite that, the program kept churning out 10 win seasons on average. And until January of 2012, Miles even had the better of BAMA. But what was the mantra even before then? 10 wins seasons are NOT ENOUGH at LSU, wasn't it? Weren't we told that a 10 win season meant either 2 or 3 losses in the regular season which meant we were almost certainly not playing for anything worthy of our stature?
And now we're being told that 10 wins is ATTAINABLE. Well, yeah...it always has been. The issue is we just fired a guy for whom 10 wins season were seen as underachieving. What is all this shite...shouldn't Orgeron and his staff be offended by the low expectations? Or is it actually the correct narrative if job security is objective #1?
Miles will continually be brought up so long as fans pretend that a 10 win season is now something we've always wanted to aspire to...because some of us remember prior to the 2017 season.

And I wish LSU had replaced Les with a proven power five conference winner rather than a guy with a 3-21 SEC record in his only head coach effort. I didn't get what I wanted and you will bot get what you want until we win the west which, at this time, doesn't look to be coming anytime soon.

What's so magical about 10 wins? Its like we pulled a random number out of our butts and made it some sort of accomplishment. We could no longer win championships so lets brag about how many 10 win seasons we had instead. The fact that a couple of people are saying Miles would have had one more 10 win season if only the game against McNeese hadn't been canceled...McNeese!? The fact that wins like that get lumped into the 10 goes to show what a lame accomplishment it can be. Who cares. Lets win championships!

Nothing, really. Well, that's not entirely true. 10 wins used to be a huge accomplishment back in the era of 11 game seasons and back when bowl games did not count either towards individual stats or team wins. If you won 10 games, it meant you only lost one...pretty big deal, right?
But once college football went to 12 games and started counting conference championship games and bowl games towards stats, 10 wins got watered down. Still shows a good/great season...as most colleges would be super happy with perennial 9-3 type seasons and a quality bowl win. But LSU is NOT most colleges, so we've been looking at 10 wins seasons under the previous regime as an underachievement.
Think the way people still get excited about a "New Year's Day Bowl", despite the fact that there are now a bunch of shitty bowls after New Years. It's partly a hold over form year's past when things were a bit different.
My point in bringing this up is the clear double standard being used for the staff which replaced the staff which was considered a huge underachiever. If averaging 10 wins a season (regardless of how you look at that as an accomplishment) was seen as underachieving from 2005 through 2015...why, suddenly, are we so eager to accept it in 2017? It's not like the previous staff tanked the program and we're looking at some rebuild here. Miles' worst seasons here was 8-5, and that was only twice...way back in 2008 and then again in 2015. We certainly would not have been happy about a Miles led 2017 season in which we lost to Miss State by 30, then lost to Sunbelt Member Troy at home, then lost to BAMA (for a 7th straight time) by (name your number here) to finish the regular season 9-3 with a shot at a 10 win season with a bowl win. Why would we be happy about it with Orgeron at the helm with what many consider the two best coordinators we've had at LSU probably since Saban was here?

You are right! The new rally cry is, eleven or twelve wins per season! Any coach who can only win a lowly ten games has failed.
Sound right to you?
