I used to be pro Snowden, but the more I think about it, the more I feel he went overboard. He could have revealed NSA domestic spying without revealing 50,000 TS documents, most of which had little to do with it.
I say he needs to be in jail, especially since it's now clear he is just another SJW nerd.

Didn’t think he had one, to be honest.

I am glad I was able to educate myself on what aspects of my private life were liable to be handed over to the NSA; which was confirmed by some of the documents Snowden released.

No you aren't. You're glad our enemies were given access to that information.

I think he just called you a traitor

I've seen him post enough to know he isn't a partisan hack, he just has strong opinions.
I just didn't understand his point. And if I take it at face value, all I can really say to it is I disagree.
I didn't know if he was going for the utilitarian angle of "it wasn't worth a lot of secrets that hurt our national security for you to be slightly more informed where your phone records might go" though.

Kinda like increased Uranium access, palates of cash air lifted to enemies, and freed terrorists traded for traitors?
We talking patriotism?

Do you think Snowden should be tried for treason and spend the rest of his life in jail if guilty?

No.

Also no.

This thread is going about as well as Rev. Al Sharpton wanting to start a 'conversation' about the plight of black folks and then not liking the direction the conversation goes.

Snowden was definitely a traitor.
It seems there were a few domestic surveillance things that were overboard and unconstitutional; I could applaud a proper whistle blower (went to a member of Congress, etc...).
But Snowden wasn't a whistle blower, he was a traitor / spy.

He revealed information about our military operations and foreign reconnaissance to foreign governments, and made it easy for terrorists to operate here and evade detection, and so I lean towards the camp that thinks he goes beyond just being a whistleblower and waded into treasonous territories.
I guess that indicates my answer is yes.

It’s not as simple as you want to make it. His decisions leading up to his release of information should be celebrated. It’s how he handled himself after that and since that should cause alarm. We don’t know his true motivations.
What would you want him to do? Stay and be caged or worse?
Don't care about his motivation, glad he exposed what he did.
